Currently, we have an opportunity in our Emeryville, CA office for a passionate Marketing Communications Associate. This role will create communication materials that effectively describe and promote Aspera and its products, including case studies, press releases, monthly newsletter, new and updated website content, brochures, marketing collateral, trade show content, and other media outreach programs. In this position, you will leverage content creation and writing skills to develop and implement consistent marketing and communications initiatives in support of the marketing organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at a software or technology organization; experience speaking with customers and partners to gather relevant information to write compelling case studies and public relations. Qualified candidates should be comfortable with and capable of working with product marketing to develop high-quality web content and collateral using a content management system (TYPO3 preferred) and creative software (e.g., InDesign). Prior experience in media technology with understanding of media production, post-production and distribution is preferred, but not required to help fully engage a large segment of customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement various communications programs including website, promotional and customer engagement and social marketing.
• Work closely with Product Marketing to develop and implement marketing collateral and programs, including new software and SaaS launches, major release communications, and existing product promotion.
• Manage content updates to the Aspera website using a content management system. This includes content editing, HTML coding when necessary and testing of new pages before they go live.
• Responsible for the accuracy and consistency of the content, images and stories on company web pages including asperasoft.com and new IBM.com pages. QA the Aspera website for copy, grammar and brand consistency. Continually test the user experience, suggest and implement strategies to improve usability.
• Assist lead generation efforts by developing and implementing strategies / programs for sales leads generation.
• Act as a liaison with some outside marketing vendors.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field;
• 3-5+ years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations;
• 2+ years of Marketing communications experience in a high-tech company;
• Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling marketing content;
• Self-driven with excellent communication, both written and verbal, and presentation skills;
• Ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
