The MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab is a $240 million partnership between MIT and IBM Research dedicated to pushing the frontiers of artificial intelligence and translating breakthroughs into real-world impact through its corporate membership program. By working with member companies, researchers can gain direct exposure to pressing industry problems and opportunities for AI innovation. Member companies contribute problem statements, domain expertise, and proprietary data to support their selected research projects, and in return gain early access and license to IP produced by their selected projects.
The role of the AI Strategy Associate Intern is a hybrid role between consultant and product manager, with the goal of triangulating between our clients, our scientists, and our Advanced Prototyping Team to drive innovation in AI with clients. You will work with team members to advise clients on the opportunities AI research poses for our member companies, and help build prototypes that demonstrate applications of research on member use cases.
Our membership program currently consists of seven deep relationships with global leaders across multiple industries: finance, consumer technology, medical devices and diagnostics, chemistry , construction, and energy. As we deepen these engagements and grow our membership further, we are looking for outstanding associates with a rare skillset: the ability to effectively traverse the worlds of Ph.D. scientists, applied software engineers, and business leaders in their respective domains.
