About the Role

As a Técnico de Mantenimiento (Electricista) , you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the hotel's technical installations, with a strong focus on electrical systems . You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and support other systems such as mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration. Your work will directly contribute to guest comfort, colleague safety, and the overall excellence of Grand Hyatt Barcelona's facilities.

Main Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance , with a primary focus on electrical systems (low‑voltage installations, power distribution boards, lighting, emergency lighting, safety and alarm systems, and electrical components of hotel equipment).
· Support maintenance tasks on mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and basic carpentry systems as required.
· Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests from guests and internal departments, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
· Operate, check, and monitor essential hotel machinery and equipment to ensure safe and optimal functioning .
· Accurately record technical data , interventions, and incidents in the department's logging systems, complying with safety standards and departmental procedures.
· Ensure all work areas, technical rooms, and workshops are kept clean, organized, and safe , following hygiene and safety guidelines.
· Support the team during emergencies and operational needs , including power failures, equipment breakdowns, or urgent repairs.

Customer Service Responsibilities

· Provide courteous, professional, and helpful service to guests and colleagues at all times.
· Handle enquiries and maintenance requests efficiently, offering clear communication and ensuring timely follow‑up until the issue is resolved.
· Maintain positive and collaborative interactions with guests and team members, contributing to a supportive and service‑oriented environment.

Personal Responsibilities

· Represent the values and service culture of Grand Hyatt Barcelona at all times, acting as an ambassador of the Hyatt brand.
· Attend required training sessions, safety briefings, and departmental meetings to stay updated on procedures, equipment, and standards.
· Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, service providers, and partner hotels , supporting smooth coordination and high‑quality service.
· Follow all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook , including safety, hygiene, environmental, and IT use guidelines.
· Maintain excellent grooming and personal presentation , in line with hotel standards.
· Adapt to departmental needs and perform additional duties as requested by the Engineering leadership team.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Requirements

·  Technical knowledge in electrical systems (priority), with complementary knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic carpentry.
·  Experience in electromechanical maintenance and troubleshooting , ideally in a hotel, building services, or similar operational environment.
·  Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills , and the ability to work independently when required.
·  Strong attention to detail , problem‑solving mindset, and clear communication style.
·  High level of Spanish and basic English skills sufficient for operational communication with guests, colleagues, and external providers.
·  Basic computer literacy, including Office tools and internal logging/maintenance systems .
·  1–2 years of experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within hospitality or large facilities.
·  Education or certifications in relevant technical fields (Electricity, Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, etc.) are highly valued .
·  Physical ability to operate machinery, handle tools, lift, and work in varied conditions , including confined spaces or at heights, in compliance with safety regulations.
·  Availability to work on rotating shifts , including weekends and public holidays, according to operational needs.
