Job description

The Hyatt Regency Sydney is currently looking to expand our Lobby Bar Team. The Lobby bar is open from early morning and provides coffee and a light breakfast for guests and visitors to the hotel, they are also responsible for assisting the restaurant with their breakfast shift which can cater for up to 800 guests on an average day. The Lobby Bar transitions into a late night bar providing meals, top end spirits, cocktails and a unique selection of wine.
Recently we have added the additional Heritage Cafe that provides sandwiches, light snacks and coffee to guests throughout the day.

Reporting to the Food and Beverage leadership team, you will provide exceptional friendly, courteous and efficient Food and Beverage service that creates an uncomplicated and enjoyable dining experience to our guests.

This includes:

• Setup and preparation of the venues
• Anticipate guest's needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service.
• Thorough knowledge of all food items to describe them to guests
• Understanding of wines and others beverages, able to offer suggestions
• Up sell the products of the Hotel at every given opportunity

Desired profile

Requirements for this position include:

• Responsible Service of Alcohol Card
• Previous experience in a Food and Beverage environment is essential
• Experience in a hotel restaurant operations including buffet experience highly regarded
• Strong Food and Beverage skills – wine knowledge, table service
• Excellent presentation and grooming
• Strong communication skills - able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
• Must be available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, morning shifts and evening shifts.
• Full Australian Working Rights is essential
