Job description

At Grand Hyatt Barcelona , one of the city's newest luxury landmarks, we are looking for a Pool Kitchen Assistant (Ayudante de Cocina) to join our Culinary team on a temporary basis from June to September .

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for food, a positive attitude, and the motivation to work in a dynamic, outdoor, and guest‑focused environment during the summer season.

About the Role

As Ayudante de Cocina – Pool , you will support the daily culinary operations of our Pool & Outdoor F&B outlets , assisting in food preparation and ensuring smooth service during peak summer months.

This is a hands‑on role that requires energy, teamwork, speed, and attention to detail, contributing to a relaxed yet high‑quality dining experience aligned with Hyatt's standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the preparation of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
· Support mise en place for pool service and high‑volume operations
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas
· Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP) at all times
· Handle ingredients correctly, ensuring proper storage and food safety
· Support the culinary team during service, maintaining speed and consistency
· Assist with basic preparation adapted to allergies and dietary requirements
· Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and working areas
· Work collaboratively with the Kitchen team to ensure efficient operations
· Maintain a positive, respectful, and proactive attitude in a multicultural team

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Requirements & Qualifications

·  Previous experience as Ayudante de Cocina or in a similar kitchen support role (preferred)
·  Basic culinary knowledge and willingness to learn
·  Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
·  Ability to work in a fast‑paced, seasonal environment
·  Team‑oriented, reliable, and flexible attitude
·  Spanish level sufficient for kitchen communication
·  Valid Spanish residency and legal work authorization ( mandatory )
·  Availability to work June to September , including weekends and holidays
