Job description
The Stress Testing Project Manager role is based within HBEU’s Stress Testing team. The team supports the ability of the bank to be capital efficient through design and delivery of a robust process that meets PRA stress testing governance requirements. Project Management standards and methodologies provide direction on the project management approach required. Overall governance of Project Management activities is provided by the HBEU PMO & European Change Board. The Group Compliance Policy provides direction and guidance on relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
The role of the Stress Testing Project Manager is to Support the HBEU Stress Testing Programme Manager in delivering an improved concurrent stress testing process across HBEU Finance & Risk. They will cooordinate and communicate across HBEU Finance and Risk teams during delivery period from February to June, to ensure that all tasks are performed in a timely fashion and that all teams are provided with sufficient information and time to produce robust reporting for the external regulators.
It is a varied role within a small team offering exposure to many other business areas including risk and finance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support the HBEU Stress Testing Programme Manager in all aspects of project delivery
Ensure the needs of customers (internal and external) are correctly understood, configured into appropriate projects, and effectively delivered
Manage the relationship with internal customers on a day-to-day basis
Engage with relevant Finance, Risk and Business teams in HBEU and Group to ensure they are effectively engaged in the delivery of change when this is required.
Work collaboratively as a member of the HBEU Stress Testing central team to identify, design & implement significant changes when these are required
Apply effective management styles and people management skills to lead and/or influence stakeholders to resolve conflicts, facilitate efficient delivery and manage central project teams of analysts
Set-up and manage the HBEU Sharepoint site, including design, training for users, maintenance and interface with Group Sharepoint sites
Help to establish an effective governance structure for the Concurrent Stress Testing programme
Produce, maintain and manage appropriate project control documentation including Project Plans, Logs of Risks and Issues, and Status Reports
A major challenge of the role will be to work in a rapidly changing environment:
Delivery of PRA/EBA requirements to regulator’s dead-lines

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Reconcilations/ external reporting/ Regulatory reporting
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Banking
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.
Prince 2, Six Sigma,
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Change
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Powerpoint/ Excel
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Stresstesting Experience/risk/ offshoring/ Regulatory reporting is desirable but not essential
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.
Qualified Accountant is desirable but not essential
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. FGP/ Gleam/ QRM/ Saracen is desirable but not essential
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Sharepoint/ Access is desirable but not essential
Proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
Proven experience of motivating others to deliver exceptional performance and long terms results
Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered

Experience of making timely and rational decisions, based on relevant information and experience
Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
Proven experience of successful project management, utilising relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery
The ability to understand and interpret straightforward financial data
A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
The base location for this role is London, 8 Canada Square.
We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. We will create the head office of our ring-fenced bank in Birmingham. This role may be relocated to Birmingham from 2017. Where the role holder is willing to move and it is practical to do so, the role may relocate before this time.
