first direct is a member of the HSBC group and is one of the major contributors of profit to the Retail Banking & Wealth Management businesses (that's everyday banking and investments to you and me). Retail banking services over 50 million customers globally and offers a whole range of banking products and services.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Solution Architect.

The role of the GCB 5 Solution Architect is accountable for:

• Defining the right solution architectures for first directs change initiatives.

• Assuring that solutions are fit for purpose, cost effective, and align with bank standards.

• Gaining formal approval for solutions through the appropriate governance, documenting the architecture, associated risks and technical debt as necessary.

• Effectively communicating the solution architectures to business and technology colleagues responsible for materialising the design.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Working with Enterprise Architecture colleagues to create and update standards in support to Solution Architecture demand.

· Maintaining the integrity of Enterprise Architecture information and roadmaps.

Qualifications :



The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:

· Proven experience as a solution architect or similar role

· The ability to communicate with a wide range of IT specialists, suppliers and business stakeholders

· The capability to drive, govern and support establishing architecture functions

· Strong understanding of architecture and IT governance frameworks

The base location of this role will be first direct 's offices in Stourton, Leeds.
