Job description

The Senior Resource Planning Manager role is based within the UK RBWM Business Performance department and is part of the Business Steering and Management team.
 
The role of the Senior Resource Planning Manager is to lead a team of 6 FTEs across GCB5-6 grades in the ongoing development, delivery and implementation of the Network and Wealth Resource Modelling and resulting FTE plans which seeks to achieve a nationally consistent allocation of Resource across all Network and Wealth roles. This will take into account BAU activities such as efficiency, hours of business as well as wider impacting programmes. This job holder is also responsible for the AOP capacity planning process.
 
You can really see the value  that you can add to the business  by making  sure that you're providing them with a robust and a highly integral resource for them and this has a front line affect and within this area, it is a very collaboratve way of working and you get the opportunity to speak to a wide range of people at all levels.  It also gets you a lot closer to the customer and this area does not remove you completely from the bigger picture and is not  like  a back office role and have a lot more contact with the front line.  You also have an immediate impact on the customer which is a great result.  Access, Excel, Powerpoint and a rnage of other bespoke HSBC ones. The team is based in London and Southampton so travel  will be required to visit them and for various meetings as and when.                                                             
 
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and developing a team of 6 managers at GCB5 and GCB6 graded roles.
Leading a team who are responsible for the ongoing development, delivery, maintenance and communication of resource and recruitment across all channels Branch Network and Wealth Management.
Wealth spans of control (SPOC).
AOP capacity planning. 

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Capacity resource planning or AOP modelling at regional or branch level would be key alongside team management experience. 
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. The team is based in London and Southampton so regular visits to Southampton will be required.
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of All HSBC or equivalent Products and services and UK RBWM environment experience or equivalent would be a bonus.  is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Knowledge of Wealth, Network, HSBC Direct, Premier and Business Banking  procedures and processes or equivalent would be idea.  is desirable but not essential
A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively 
A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
Dealt effectively with highly complex commercial information and business challenges to create strategic business plans which effectively deliver results
A comprehensive understanding of business finance and management information and an ability to use this information to inform decisions and deliver efficiencies/savings
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder management skills coupled with a solid  team management background alongside strong planning and organisational skills due to the nature of the role.
 
The base location for this role is London.
