The Relationship Support Officer role is based within HSBC Business Banking – Commercial Banking UK

Through Business Banking (BB) our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to- end solutions designed to help small and large businesses reach their potential

The role of the Relationship Support Officer - Business Banking is to work closely with the Relationship Manager supporting delivery of a professional relationship management service to customers, prospective customers and professionals. The job holder is required to provide high quality service to his/her internal and external customers; taking ownership and completing all tasks in a timely manner This supports the bank's long-term strategy to lead business by establishing and maintaining long term relationships with businesses, treating customers fairly, identifying their needs, delivering solutions to meet those needs and providing an excellent customer service.

This is a key support role to the Relationship Managers and the commercial customers they manage. An important part of the role involves dealing with customers over the telephone, resolving queries and dealing with requests, as well as processing credit applications.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Assisting Relationship Managers in delivering a relationship management service which provides value-added services guidance to customers, prospects and professionals
· Delivering a superior customer experience to both domestic and international customers
· Ensuring processes and procedures are completed accurately is in accordance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
· Processing credit applications
· Maintaining awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
· Identifying opportunities to improve customer service
· Researching a target list of prospect companies, and assist in identifying customer needs and researching potential solutions from existing customers
· Acting as the primary point of contact for customers and colleagues in the absence of the Relationship Manager
· Facilitating referrals from both existing customers and own network

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Commercial/Corporate/Business Banking
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Customer service
·  A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  An understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these
The base location for this role is Reading
