The Relationship Director works within HSBC Corporate Banking in Jersey and the role is to develop and grow the corporate banking business.
The scope of the role enables you to work in partnership with both key local and international customers to help them grow their businesses. The strength of the HSBC brand creates significant opportunities and this role offers the right individual an opportunity to develop International Banking experience as well as having a strong local focus. HSBC Secondment terms are available for the right applicant.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactively winning and building new long-term relationships with customers, aligned with HSBC’s Corporate Banking strategy to be the Leading International Trade and Business Bank.
Fully contributing to an expanding business by developing and initiating effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipating customer needs, and providing a superior quality service experience, positioning HSBC as the market leader in this segment.
Building robust business cases to support judgemental decisions and recommendations on large and/or complex credit risk cases.
Taking a proactive approach to client planning across the portfolio, in collaboration with product partners and senior management as appropriate.
Inspiring and motivating junior colleagues to deliver a seamless relationship management service to key clients.
Desired profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
A track record of success in terms of winning new sustainable corporate banking business.
Past working experience in a relevant business development role, e.g. Corporate Banking, International Banking.
Experience of networking with key business introducers, and prospecting for new clients and building and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities.
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Corporate/Commercial Lending, FX, Payments and Cash Management.
Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively.
A track record of effectively handling complex business proposals, and meeting the needs of demanding customers, in a fair and ethical way.
Proven experience of delivering an excellent customer service and proactively looking for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers.
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
Role relevant qualifications, i.e. ACIB/IFS Degree, are desirable but not essential.
The base location for this role is Jersey.
