The RBWM FCC Assistant Manager role is based within our Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Financial Crime Compliance Team.

The role of the RBWM FCC Assistant Manager is to act as a focal point for HSBC Bank plc (HBEU) and its other UK subsidiaries and businesses to assist management to comply with the requirements of the UK Financial Crime Compliance regime and the Group's Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) policies.

Your responsibilities will include:
· As part of the Financial Crime Compliance team, to act as a focal point, providing FCC guidance and advice.
· In conjunction with other FCC Functions, to ensure changes arising from new or amended sanctions regimes are disseminated and incorporated into business processes and procedures.
· To assist the Senior FCC Manager to disseminate changes arising from new or amended FCC regulatory and Group policy requirements and ensure business processes and procedures are updated appropriately.
· To proactively assist in identifying and containing FCC risk.
· To support FCC Management in the evaluation and implementation of relevant Anti Money Laundering (AML) related processes in respect of business driven projects. Provide support to ad hoc projects.
· To oversee Special Category of Client (SCC) sign off processes.
· To proactively assist in the fostering of a compliance culture across multiple entities.
· To collate and previse periodic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from across UK Bank
· To provide advice, guidance and support to the UK businesses on FCC regulatory requirements and related HSBC Group policies.
· To provide advice, guidance and support to the SCC Team and other UK business areas responsible for the management of Special Categories of Clients (SCC) and High Risk (HR) customers.
· To assist all areas of Business Risk to manage risks across the Bank.
· To work with the Global Standards teams to bring new policies and procedures in line with agreed timelines.
· As part of a team to promote best practice in regulatory risk management and reporting across UK businesses.
· To discharge the Compliance Officer accountabilities set out in the Compliance Officer Handbook by proactively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk; monitoring, reporting and certification; fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with Regulators.
· To ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Retail Banking
·  Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Financial Crime Compliance, Risk
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. FCC or Risk Management
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. UK or Europe is desirable but not essential
·  Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
·  Experience of making prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
·  Experience of planning and prioritising their own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
·  Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management
·  A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
The base location for this role is Birmingham.

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
