The jobholder is part of the Product Management team and will report directly to the LAM/MX Financial Crime Detection Sr Manager. The Product Management team ensures that essential systems and data are available to enable FC to conduct effective and efficient investigations and analytics. The team is proactive and future-looking, shaping Financial Crime technology and promoting its adoption across Risk & Compliance.

The jobholder is accountable for conducting FC Product Management Transaction Monitoring & Screening activities aimed at mitigating the harms associated with financial crime.  

Main activities

·  Support Compliance and HSBC as a regional industry leader in the development and implementation of technologies conducting the identification and mitigation of financial crime.
·  Leveraging structured and centrally managed global programmes to ensure that shared FC technologies are developed to provide the best balance of mitigation against all financial crime types.
·  Ensure the professional delivery of technology investment to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, security and cost-profile of Compliance by creating product ownership for all systems in use:

o   Maintain a product backlog of candidate requirements.

o   Maintain a roadmap showing the intended evolution of each product.

o   Maintain a product plan which: Drives development work; Eliminates risk at earliest opportunity, Manages Dependencies & Interfaces; Ensures end-to-end core functionality is delivered; Report progress against a baseline in a timely manner and Manage vendors to maximize delivery whilst promoting strategic partnership.

o   Identify and document User Acceptance Test Scenarios and conduct Testing in coordination with Compliance IT, follow up to Defect Management and corresponding re-testing.

·  Support Business systems applying judgment on criticality and operational prioritization ensuring system is secure, available and fit for purpose:

o   Changes affecting system integrity, availability and operation are reviewed, challenged as necessary and approved in a timely manner.

o   System outages that could have been foreseen /prevented by testing or otherwise minimized.

·  Effective Issues Management, with support provided to Control Owners and Audit and Assurance reviews.
·  Support the development of documents required to comply with both internal Data Risk Management and Local Regulation

Requirements

·  Education to Bachelor degree level or above (Required)
·  Advanced English (Required)
·  Basic SAS EFM or Python programing to obtain structured information as required (Desirable).
·  Experience with distributed systems, such as Hadoop, or cloud-based technologies, such as Google or AWS (Desirable).
·  Experience in data schemas, machine learning, artificial intelligence, geospatial tools or advanced data visualization (Desirable).
·  Deep Agile/SAFE IT methodologies knowledge (Required)
·  Knowledge in Transaction Monitoring, Screening and Investigations platforms/systems i.e.: CAMP, Quantexa, Actimize, etc. (Desirable)
·  Proven Project Management/Product Ownership experience in a complex global environment
·  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
·  Resourceful, creative and inquisitive approach to highly complex tasks
·  The ability to quickly identify the optimal solutions to complex problems
·  Deep understanding of intelligence analytics, investigations and the various Compliance disciplines
