Job description

Role Purpose:
· Finance lead for UK RBWM investments, working closely with project delivery teams to ensure business cases are robust, costs and benefits are tracked and reported regularly and forecasts updated to reflect latest P&L impacts
· Ensure adherence to UK and Global approval processes for all spend
· Ensure adherence to FIM for creation of initial business case and ongoing tracking of costs and benefits
· Provide insightful analysis to RBWM Exec on burn rates and ROI to allow optimal decisions to be made on the deployment of scarce resources
· Provide financial and operational support to RBWM stakeholders on investments
Key Accountabilities

· Work with programme leads and UK COO teams to ensure investment requests are properly evaluated and challenged in advance of being presented for UK and Global approval
· Improve the tracking of business case performance and improve the accountability of project sponsors to deliver expected benefits
· Work closely with the UK Change & Service Assurance team to ensure projects remain within governance in terms of investment spend
· Introduce a monthly reporting rhythm for all projects which identifies YTD spend on IT, UKT and other direct costs and, based on run rate, projects future spend to deliver the project
· Provide value added MI and insight to allow the business to understand risks and opportunities and deploy scarce resources in an optimal manner. Support decision making on where projects should be stopped/paused due to a shortfall in benefits delivery or an overspend in costs
· Support the monthly forecast and annual AOP process by sharing cost and benefit impacts from approved business cases

Customers / Stakeholders
· RBWM Transformation team - Project managers to support production of robust business cases and ongoing tracking
· IT in HOST
· UK COO to support governance process, order book prioritisation and allocation of resources
· Global RBWM Finance, Regional HOST and Regional Global Functions finance teams
Leadership & Teamwork
· Support the UK Cost Business Finance team's performance, engagement and overall development
· Develop business finance capability and resourcing as appropriate to ensure the business is adequately supported by Business Finance
· Identify, transfer and foster sharing of best practice
· Stay abreast of all financially-related, internal and external market-wide initiatives that affect RBWM. Provide appropriate updates and briefing as necessary and applicable

Desired profile

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
·  The individual would be expected to have a varied finance career to date across multiple finance disciplines (i.e. Financial Accounting & Control; Business Information & Analysis; Financial & Regulatory Reporting)
·  The individual will have a formally recognised finance qualification
·  In particular, the individual should possess:
·  Exceptional drive and commitment
·  Ability to work and thrive in a fast changing, results driven environment
·  Commercially minded; customer focused
·  Outstanding leadership skills, demonstrating ability to use initiative and effect change through people in a large matrix organisation.

·  Strong management information background, both in terms of required content, production processes and understanding what drives the numbers reported

The base location of this role will be 120 Edmund Street, Birmingham.
