Job description

The Digital UX/Visual Designer role is based within the UX & Design within HSBC's Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) EMEA Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE).

The role of the Digital UX/Visual Designer is to contribute to UX and / or visual design activity to create ‘Best In Class' experiences for the Public Websites, Internet Banking, Share dealing and Mobile (including future channels/devices).

The job holder engages in all aspects of design activity from concept to customer testing to produce User Centre Designed (UCD) deliverables (including initial sketches, wireframes, clickable prototypes) in line with Global and Regional Digital order book and in conjunction with other DCOE teams.

We are looking for a Digital UX/Visual Designer that is foremost an excited and skilled learner; one that has some of the following traits:
· A distinct and refined design sense, with strong product instincts.
· The agility to go from strategy to wireframe to mockup to code in a short course of time.
· Interest in reimagining what a bank can look like, both from the inside and out.
· A diverse background that you can reference for a fresh perspective on this problem set

Our Digital Centre of Excellence is a global operational centre, leading a digital transformation across HSBC, enabling simplification of complex process to improve our productivity and customer engagement across multiple channels, most significantly the Global Public Website.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Actively participating with the wider team in creation of ‘best in class' channel propositions and services following user centred design techniques and industry best practice, including research and customer usability testing, briefing and managing agencies where appropriate.
· Interacting with multiple RBWM teams at Global, Regional and Country level in order to ensure the most rapid and efficient development of digital requirements and readiness of the business to adopt.
· Providing digital capabilities to priority markets in Europe and Middle East and North Africa (MENA), plus smaller markets within the respective regions.
· Developing concept designs and clickable prototypes to support stakeholder engagement and illustrate early design thinking. Provide SME support in all aspects of UCD across the Analysis and Design functions.
· Using own Subject Matter Expertise to champion, evangelise and educate the COE stakeholders on User Experience/Service Design best practice and creative innovations from the external marketplace to enhance and evolve the Digital Business.
· Actively participating in development of clickable prototypes and demos to illustrate early design concepts to business stakeholders and Development teams.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
·  Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Adobe CC, Axure, Invision and Sketch
·  Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Deep understanding of real world customer attitudes, needs and expectations – specifically relating to interaction through PC, mobile, tablet and social media
·  Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. proven UX and Design practice
·  A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
·  A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
·  A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
·  Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
·  A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success

The base location for this role is Blue Fin Building, London.
