Role Purpose

· FCTM is responsible for running a unified and global capability to identify, analyse, and investigate financial crime risk. This supports informed financial crime risk management by HSBC and effective information sharing with internal and external stakeholders (including government). The system is grounded in advanced analytics and technology.

· FCTM IT is 300+ people across 3 continents.

· The AIX/LINUX/Solaris estate for FCTM is 650+ physical and virtual machines, predominantly LINUX .

Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

· Building, configuring and delivering complex LINUX environments and services

· Providing BAU LINUX environment support

· Supporting Production Incident resolution and Change Control

· Root cause analysis into performance/capacity issues

Major Challenges

· Working for a very large, diverse and geographically spread organisation

· Working and partnering development and infrastructure teams

· Working in a fast-paced team, juggling multiple priorities

· Weekend, sometimes evening work is required

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Experience (1 = essential, 2 = very useful, 3 = nice to have):

1. LINUX Administration / RHEL Certification

1. Experience working in major enterprise and/or financial institution

1. Experience with NAS and EMC SAN storage solutions

1. Experienced in building complex, clustered LINUX environments

2. Experience with HP and IBM hardware

2. Network Administration

2. Agile / Kanban

2. Centrify

3. Hadoop

3. Cloud - GCP / AWS

Technical skills (1 = essential, 2 = useful, 3 = nice to have):

1. RHEL

1. Shell scripting / REGEX

1. ESX clusters

1. Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster Server

2. SUSE

3. AIX

3. Solaris

3. CISCO switch infrastructure

Essential Skills/Competencies:

· Methodical and measured approach with a keen eye for attention to detail

· Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in the face of adversity

· Ability to collaborate, interact and engage with different business, technical and subject matter experts
