As Channels Governance Manager, you will report to the Channels Governance and Controls lead and be the key business partners within WPB Channels to understand, assess and help manage risks they face while adopting new ways of working across their business. You will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our risk governance framework, ensuring that WPB Channels operations are within the bank’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management, strong leadership, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Your main responsibilities will include:

·  Develop, implement, and maintain the risk governance framework for WPB Channels, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall risk management framework.
·  Establish, localize, and implement risk policies, procedures, and controls to manage and mitigate risks within WPB Channels.
·  Lead the incident management process, including the identification, assessment, and resolution of risk incidents within WPB.
·  Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified Issues.
·  Oversee the development and delivery of risk reports to the relevant risk committees.
·  Collaborate with key stakeholders across the bank, including WPB leadership, compliance, internal audit, and external auditors, to promote a strong risk culture.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·  Problem solving and analysis skills especially in the design of new control instances and processes – an interest in finding the underlying cause of a problem and finding an acceptable solution across multiple stakeholders.
·  Ability to analyze, digest and present complex issues concisely to senior and/or key stakeholders using simple language.
·  Strong influencing and arbitration skills – an interest in driving to an agreed way forward, where there may be differences of opinion or conflict.
·  Strong stakeholder management skills to build trusted and credible relationships.
·  Proven experience in developing and implementing risk governance frameworks.
·  Demonstrable ability for strong and collaborative teamwork, embracing the agreed team principles of Credibility, Honesty, Approachability and Fairness

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
