Role purpose:

You will provide financial and analytics support to Global Businesses leadership team and Head of Business Finance to accomplish HSBC's strategic imperative to become the “Leading International Bank” in Australia by assisting with defining, developing, and deploying a financial framework that assists in acquiring and retaining customers through our products, services, and delivery channels.

Apply your expertise to provide planning, forecasting, effective MI and insightful analysis and effective business partnering to achieve the key aim of meeting the key strategic and business imperatives.

Key responsabilities:
• Work with local and regional senior managers and stakeholders to deliver a challenging, robust and fair Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Australia.
• Provide commentaries on Global Standardised Packs based on understanding of business and underlying economic situation to explain the Business results as required by region and local management. Ensure all production activities are carried out off-shore.
• Review, interrogate and report on influences to the financial performance of the different Global Businesses.
• Provide input into strategies to grow lending, deposits, increase fee income, and manage margins on lending, through the analysis and interrogation of financial information.
• Understand the costs impacting the business and make recommendations at an expense level to increase efficiencies.
• Undertake projects as directed. Liaise with Finance to ensure new business reporting requirements are represented and accommodated in line with key business initiatives and guide the offshore team where necessary to produce this information.
• Provide insightful commentary and analysis on the balance sheet and off balance sheet
• Investigate, review, and drive cost management opportunities within the business.
• Support Senior Management in post implementation reviews of any business cases or projects.
• Prepare and respond to regular operational returns at request of internal support areas. Complete regular returns

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Experience;

• Bachelor' s degree in Accounting or Finance (or a related discipline)
• At least 3 years' experience in analytics, MI and reporting, preferably in a banking environment
• Strong exposure to banking products and proven experience in business partnering, business planning and forecasting
• Strong analysis and commercial skills with understanding of the key business drivers
• Good systems skills utilizing key Group systems (HUB, HMI, Cognos, Horis and Microsoft applications)
• Deadline driven, with strong organisational skills with ability to deliver on tight deadlines with high level of accuracy
• Ability to be credible, engaging and build good relationships with senior management and stakeholders
