The role of the Business Risk and Controls Management (BRCM) Assistant Manager is to HSBC UK will become a leading provider of retail and commercial products to customers throughout the UK. As the new entity is set up, transfer of a robust control environment and ongoing governance is essential.

This role is a key BRCM position within Finance for HSBC UK. The role holder will be a key member of the BRCM team for the entity, working closely with the Senior Manager – Finance BRCM, HBUK Finance Control Officer, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) team and Assurance team to ensure the robust control environment is in place. The role holder will be required to develop, in collaboration with the Global Process Owners (GPO's) and Finance Senior Management, a series of RCAs that capture all of the material Risks and Controls and execute a programme of control testing across these Risk Control Assessments (RCA's) in line with the Operational Risk and Sox frameworks

It is important that as well as operating and monitoring the control framework the role holder helps to build design and implement standardised control related MI and develop a detailed understanding of the finance processes that they support, focusing on material risk and control issues as well as supporting the continued embedding of the operational risk framework.

Your responsibilities will include:
·  The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
·  Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
·  A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
·  Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
·  A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes

The base location of this role will be 120 Edmund Street

We are required by the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 to create a ring-fenced bank in the UK by 1 January 2019. Entirely new from the ground up, HSBC UK's head office is opening in Birmingham. The location of this role will move to our new state of the art offices at 2 Arena Central during 2018.
