Job description

The Assurance Assistant Manager Regulatory Compliance - Europe role is based within Risk Management.

The role of the Assurance Assistant Manager Regulatory Compliance - Europe is to undertake periodic functional reviews of the Europe RC functions, in accordance with a risk based model and to support of the Global Regulatory Compliance (RC) Assurance model.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Assist in carrying out reviews of the Europe RC functions in accordance with the planned review schedule and on a thematic risk-based basis;
· Support the preparation and issue of reports of each functional review;
· Maintain up to date records of the implementation of review recommendations;
· Assist with the production of Management Information (MI) in relation to the reviews undertaken (Regional Head of RC, Regional business line heads of RC, Global Assurance, Group Audit, Europe Risk, Chief Risk Officers, Country Heads of RC;
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Effective communication skills - both orally and in writing
· Ability to act proactively
· Where applicable, collaborate with Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) colleagues to work effectively on joint assurance reviews
· Collaborate and foster good relations with other Compliance teams
· Assist with proposal of new, revised RC policies, standards and help to provide solutions for complex global issues, initiatives in an ever-changing, high risk environment.
· Provide support with oversight of the monitoring and implementation of global RC controls, ensuring consistency and integration with the Operational Risk framework, where appropriate.
· Ability to work in a methodical manner.
· Robust and timely record keeping.

·  Good communication skills both oral and written;
·  Experience of a range of business activities, product lines and regulatory topics;
·  Knowledge of Group Standard Manual (GSM), Functional Instruction Manual (FIM) requirements;
·  Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines.
·  Tenacity to follow issues through to resolution.
·  Team player who focuses on delivery and continuous improvement.

The base location for this role is Park Street, London.
