Global Ops Analytics – CCS is an integral part of the Global CCS team supporting various Analytical projects and deliverables in the domain of Collections, Underwriting and new Fraud analytics footprints Service in multiple geographies around the globe. This team is a business-aligned, customer-servicing focused with the primary objective of driving operational excellence through data driven analytical solutions and strategy, process streamline and rationalization, recommend and prescribe with actionable insights with use latest tools and techniques across the full range of HSBC operations. Operations Analytics helps operational effectiveness and driving positive financial impact.

Global Fraud Management has the responsibility to manage the bank’s fraud exposure through use of advanced detection analytics and operational capabilities that allow us to protect our customers from criminal activity and minimize any losses incurred. The first line of defense against fraud attacks are the bank’s fraud detection systems, ranging from application vetting to card & payment transaction monitoring. Analytic models running on these systems are designed to identify suspicious activity to be flagged for operational review and/or declined. As fraud attacks get more sophisticated, there is an ongoing need to keep developing more advanced and effective analytic models for better protection

The Opportunity:

Global Fraud Model Governance team plays a key role in ensuring all existing and new fraud models meet HSBC’s model risk standards. As part of this role, the team is responsible for setting up model monitoring and periodically assess model performance to see if it continues to perform as expected. The role of this team covers all WPB fraud models globally and it will work closely with the WPB Fraud Analytics team to develop this capability for each new model. The model monitoring results will be published on monthly basis as part of key model governance requirements.

Analytic outputs models are designed to drive certain business outcomes. In addition to model monitoring, this team will also develop analytic reporting to allow business to better understand the business effectiveness of the models. It will analyze key performance indicators and identify areas of opportunity to improve model or strategy effectiveness.

What you’ll do:

· Closely interact with various functions and understand / gather components of Fraud loss data to generate loss insights across markets from team end
· Assist in building out infrastructure to manage the large set of data that will be leveraged in future actionable insights generation
· Establish quality standards in terms of timeliness of the projects and accuracy of the deliverables. Flawless delivery of regular BAU / MI reports along support team with active support in streamline reporting
· Rebuild, expand and improve all legacy reports on new reporting platform
· Bring data visualization expertize to team and drive MI rationalization and analytical insight with user friendly environment
· To ensure a high level of security, accuracy, and efficiency, reporting analysts conduct routine audits of data storage systems and databases, conducting many tests and analyzing the results before devising new solutions or finding ways to enhance data management solutions
· Help in building foundation to Fraud Ops team analytics support in areas of demand forecast, capacity plan and production discipline insights to enable business decisions in drive ops effectiveness
· Data mining using state-of-the-art methods. Build expertise, to structure the data to ensure it can be effectively queried in appropriate timeframes by all users
· Deliver Governance pack and insights on all KPI and reporting suite
· Take direction from line manager in right scoping of projects or ad-hoc and set right expectation on requirement to avoid conflicts
· Can link to the 'bigger picture' and be able to understand the impact of various strategies, policies and events and ability to provide recommendation and guiding team

Desired profile

Qualifications :

What you will need to succeed in the role:

·  Graduate or Post graduate degree in quantitative disciplines (Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Management Science) preferable
·  Hands-on experience in data warehousing codes and principles
·  Strong understanding of architectural designs and projects
·  Sound knowledge of ETL, EUC, Access, Excel VBA and other latest system software. Visualizations tools knowledge like Qliksense, Tableau tools is an added advantage
·  Familiarity with the latest programming technologies like SAS, MYSQL or other latest programming languages
·  5-7 years of proven data analysis and/or IM experience, or equivalent
·  Must be a self-starter and will be required to work under minimal supervision, but with firm deadlines
·  Managing multiple stakeholders experience
·  Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal, written communication skills
·  Strong working knowledge on Statistical Analysis concepts and application
·  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to maintain close working relationship with related parties in an international environment
