The HR Function for Hewlett Packard Enterprise UKI is looking to hire a dynamic and enthusiastic new member to its Bracknell based team.  The opportunity that is open is for a Total Rewards Apprentice on a 2 year fixed term contract.  The individual will be part of a wider EMEA TR team and UKI HR teams and will be given full support and mentoring as well as study at College 1 day per month, plus optional workshops that complement the course.  This role will form part of the certified government Apprenticeship Scheme which includes an 18 month college programme, and the individual will gain a Level 5 CIPD certificate upon completion

The aim is to introduce talent into the HR profession and eventually the individual will have specific tasks and processes that they will manage end to end.   Full support and mentoring will be given during this opportunity.   This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to build a foundational level of experience within the Human Resources profession, as well as studying for a formal qualification. 

At the completion of the 2 year Apprenticeship contract, the right candidate could potentially transition for a full contract of employment with Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Role definition

Implements Total Rewards (TR) strategies and programs such as base salary, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, health and welfare, and retirement programs, consistent with HPE business and HR strategies. Examines impact of rewards on the total organization. Monitors legal and regulatory changes to ensure compliance. Integrates reward programs with complimentary systems (e.g., Performance Management and Talent Management).

Applies  basic foundation  of a TR/HR principles, theories and concepts to assignments of limited scope. Uses professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience.  Develops expertise  and practical knowledge of applications within business environment. Acts as team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts. Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.

Responsibilities

·  Provides customer support to employees and managers for support cases (e.g., AskHR); escalates as necessary.
·  Supports total rewards program implementation with guidance and training.
·  Assists with reporting needs.
·  Supports compensation and/or benefits trainings with team guidance and instructions.
·  Support on Mergers and Acquisitions deals.
·  Supports with vendor management including vendor set up, PO processing, invoicing, vendor discussions and escalations.
·  Develops a broad understanding of human resources policies, procedures, functions, and programs as they relate to Total Rewards.

Knowledge and Skills

·  Basic knowledge of total rewards and overall business environment.
·  Basic employment legislation, financial knowledge and business acumen.
·  Microsoft Office suite experience (Word, Outlook, Excel)
·  Workday or equivalent HR management system experience would be an advantage.
·  Good communications & organisational skills. 
·  Strong trust and integrity to deal with confidential employee data.
·  Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
·  Ability to respond independently to less complex inquiries.
