Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Global Tax organization, with its largest presence in Plano, TX, has a position available in the Income Tax Accounting Group. This role will be part of a high-performing team that leads all aspects of HPE’s worldwide consolidated tax provision and is critical to the analysis and reporting of our best-in-class tax structure and effective tax rate.
The HPE Tax group provides unique exposure to complex, cutting edge global tax issues. We have developed a global tax strategy to support our rapidly growing businesses. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: preparation of worldwide consolidated deferred tax asset/liabilities, income tax payables, uncertain tax positions, effective tax rate reconciliations, and financial statement footnotes; working with the worldwide HPE provision team to manage and review the Non-US tax provisions; and analysis of provision impacts of tax planning. You will support various team projects/initiatives, manage risks and balance business needs, support audits, and build productive working relationships within and without the Company.
This position will be involved in:
All aspects of the quarterly and annual worldwide consolidated tax provision, including US Domestic and Non-US provision calculations
Preparation and consolidation of uncertain tax positions, consolidated deferred tax assets/ liabilities and income tax payables, and effective tax rate reconciliations
Preparation of various financial statement footnotes as required to meet SEC reporting requirements
Provides audit support to ensure processes and procedures are SOX compliant
Participates in various tax planning activities and research including complex income tax accounting issues
Participates in and supports ongoing projects/initiatives
Works across different functions and levels within the organization
Masters of Taxation, certified public accountant, or equivalent
2+ years relevant ASC 740 (FAS 109) Accounting for Income Taxes experience with a multinational company or accounting firm
Experience with complex projects and geographically diverse teams
Flexibility to travel
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Extensive experience with Microsoft suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of ASC 740 (FAS 109), income tax laws, and their relationship to corporations
Experience with Thomson Reuters Onesource Tax Provision a plus
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Excellent project management, problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to execute a project with the scope of overall strategies
A great self-starter and ability to work independently
General knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
