Job Description:

   

HPE's Securities and Exchange Commission ('SEC\') Reporting team represents a mission-critical corporate headquarters activity that the CEO and CFO places direct reliance upon to support financial reporting to external parties.  A significant component of the team’s activity is around a disciplined process of compiling and reviewing HPE’s quarterly and annual financial reports to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC filing regulation.

Success in this area depends upon a unique combination of a strong knowledge of US GAAP disclosure requirements, familiarity with SEC reporting guidelines, strong writing skills, and an eagerness to understand HPE's business operations.  The role requires engagement with our external auditors E&Y, Legal, Investor Relations, Close and Internal Reporting and our partners in the business and functions.  It represents an excellent opportunity for obtaining a broad overview of HPE and extending your U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting knowledge in multiple areas.  The role requires technical accounting skills, the ability to work within a team in a project style format, strong communication skills and an ability to deliver a high-quality response in a deadline driven environment.

Job Objective: Work within a team of SEC reporting professionals to instill investor confidence and enhance shareholder value by preparing and submitting timely, accurate and relevant Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reports to the SEC.

·  Provide a strong contribution as part of a small reporting team focused on effectively delivering on a timely basis, HPE’s earnings release and 10-Q/K filings;
·  Prepare and provide Form 10-Q/K disclosures that comply with US GAAP and SEC reporting disclosure requirements and address any related E&Y queries;
·  Prepare and provide XBRL reporting component of HPE’s SEC filings;
·  Coordinate with various business partners across a worldwide organization to gather support information in order to build quarterly and annual filings;
·  Keep abreast with the latest accounting pronouncements and evaluate any impacts to HPE for disclosure purposes in coordination with HPE's policies;
·  Help drive process improvements to enable speed and accuracy over the quarterly reporting;
·  Have a disciplined approach to process checks and balances to ensure successful compliance with SOX controls;
·  Support ad hoc reporting requests from various customers;
·  Participate in broader SEC reporting or corporate reporting initiatives.

Qualifications

·  Strong US GAAP knowledge
·  Excellent communication skills, including report writing in English and influencing skills

Education and Experience Required:

·  2+ years external financial reporting experience (SEC reporting and Corporate reporting)
·  4+ years relevant technical accounting (research, accounting pronouncements, etc.) and/or audit experience
·  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred
·  Business Accounting degree, Master’s degree a plus

Knowledge and Skills Required:

·  Excellent understanding of accounting principles and knowledge of SEC Reporting requirements
·  Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, knowledge of WDESK/WORKIVA strongly preferred)
·  Good project management skills.
