The Networking, IoT and Mobility Lab (NIML) of Hewlett Packard Labs focuses on improving enterprise solution, data-center and cloud network, and intelligent edge technologies, by advancing research in seamless connectivity, localization, wireless quality of experience, mobile applications, IoT, mobile big-data analytics, 5G networks, and software defined networking.

The research team of NIML in Beijing is devoted to the fundamental research as well as applied research that advances the state-of-the-art while driving significant business impact. Our research areas of interest include (but are not limited to):

·  Edge computing and IoT
·  Mobile and multi-media networking
·  Enterprise wireless networks
·  Network function virtualization

We are seeking intern students in 2018 to work with our research team on lab research projects in Beijing.

Responsibilities:

·  Work with researchers to carry out the investigation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects to generate new technologies and intellectual property.
·  Collaborates with internal and external partners to perform experiments and validations in accordance with overall research plan.
·  Prepares literature and presentations for peer review, publication, and delivery at industry and scientific events and conferences; creates patent applications and supporting documentation.

Qualifications:
We are most interested in candidates of PhD or MS students in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or statistics), who can work as intern students in our lab for at least three months.

We expect the candidates to have strong background and expertise in corresponding fields. Excellent systems building skills are a significant plus. We value the ability to work independently and in teams, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong mathematical grounding, and the desire to learn new techniques to solve problems.
