This role sits in the Datacentre Core (DC) Practice within the UK HPE Pointnext services division, offering a range of advisory, professional and operational services to our customers.

What’s the Job?
The DC Core Pursuit team is a presales team crucial to the success and growth of HPE Pointnext, responsible for driving and managing customized service opportunities. The team achieves this through solution design and pricing, ensuring our customer proposals are of the highest quality and the most compelling to ensure a win for HPE.
The Presales Specialist will support the pursuit function of the DC Core practice and the sales community to develop and price compelling, innovative, winning HPE Pointnext solutions that enable customers to meet their business outcomes.

Day to Day?

Typical responsibilities include;

·  Deal qualification and approval to pursue
·  Development of winning solutions
·  Pricing and proposal writing
·  Managing the allocation of team resources.

Training will be provided to develop portfolio and pursuit expertise, including fundamental financial and business acumen. Interns in this role work on real bids immediately, significantly contribute to key deals and interact with sales, HPE management and customers. This role requires some flexibility as the team works to tight deadlines and occasionally work longer hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

·  We are looking for high calibre candidates that are ideally studying a business orientated degree at University and are expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 grade.
·  A confident candidate who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can lead by example even in the most demanding of situations.
·  You will be working in a constantly changing and fast paced environment therefore you must present skills that show your willingness to adapt to any situation that may arise. Being committed and proactive is key.
·  Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Experience in database management would be beneficial.
·  No primary experience in sales is necessary however, you must have solid record of past work experience and/or participation in meaningful extra-curricular activities.

Skills Required

·  Strong communication.
·  Excellent written communication is required to produce high quality documents.
·  Ability to use Microsoft Excel for report purposes, to manipulate data.
·  Understand pivot tables, look ups and to be able to create graphs and charts and show data analysis skills.
·  Have a good grasp of Microsoft Powerpoint and the ability/willingness to learn more.
·  Ability to manage time effectively.
·  Aspirations to have project management skills – Ability to organize yourself and others.
·  Logical and methodical in the way you approach tasks.
·  Confidence in being able to present ideas to higher management.
·  Ability to foster positive working relationships with customers and HPE teams.
·  The tenacity to look for simpler but better solutions.

Additional support and training will be given whenever needed to help develop the individual’s personal skills
