Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to work in the Houston, Texas office. The Intern will focus on projects as a part of a larger mechanical system infrastructure. The intern will take a sub part or assembly and translate design drawings into ProEngineer 3D modeling software. That sub part or assembly will fit into larger assemblies designed by other engineers, so there will need to be coordination and communication between multiple parties. The parts will eventually be made into physical prototypes that may be outside the scope of the initial project but would require validation of design and incorporation of feedback and design improvements for a subsequent build.

Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
·  Awareness and familiarity with relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques.
·  Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
·  Successfully operates in and between the most complex disciplines in the company such as electrical, mechanical, thermal and power engineering. Works on extremely complex problems/problems and provides highly innovative solutions.
·  Takes direction from senior system architects in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.

Education/Requirements:

·  Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
·  Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and ability to apply them effectively
·  Ability to effectively communicate with program management and others a description of  technical issues and their impacts to an overall program
·  Ability to use, review, and understand system design tools such as CAD drawings and mechanical one-lines
·  Ability to consistently implement and participate in Design for Quality activities such as design reviews
