Job Description:

   

The Enterprise Cloud Native Infrastructure Architect position in the HPE Global IT Enterprise Architecture organization is being created to lead the strategy, design, and migration to HPE’s IT new hybrid cloud hosting built on HPE’s best in class solutions.  New application development will focus on containerized, cloud native micro services and applications.  The object is to implement a hybrid cloud integration platform strategy, with self-service delivery in support of HPE enterprise digital business needs.  In this role, the architect will work closely with the Infrastructure operations team to put in place the required hosting platforms and automation to enable self-service capabilities.  

In addition, the architect will work closely with application teams providing best practices and infrastructure consulting for new and existing application migrating to the new cloud native hosting platforms.  You will help develop our cloud application development and migration methodology. You will also implement standards and solutions for developing and deploying PaaS workloads based on DevOps, Continuous Development, Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Integration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Define/mature developer standards/tools in support of the cloud native CI/CD enablement.
·  In partnership with Infrastructure Operations team, define PaaS hosting services, prioritized based on need in support of transition roadmap
·  In partnership with Cybersecurity, develop technical and security specifications for the targeted applications/workloads
·  Develop and implement application modernization, refactoring, and migration approaches to transition applications workloads from legacy standards to new standards to enable hosting on new PaaS platforms
·  Conduct application assessments and analysis for migrations targeted at moving high numbers of applications to new PaaS, identifying application requirements as well as potential refactoring that may be required
·  Develop, present and deliver application modernization roadmap plans in support of migration objectives
·  Lead and mentor teams in the migration workloads or implementations of application and services to new hosting options
·  Document and share technical best practices and insights with HPE IT, Contractors, and Business community, contributing to HPE IT’s repository of intellectual property

Qualifications:

·  Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) creating large scale applications using agile and/or iterative processes
·  Experience designing and delivering solutions with NodeJS, React, Github, Jenkins, Docker, NPS, Elk Stack
·  Cloud Native Open Standard Application Development, architecture design, modernization, implementation, deployment and support of highly distributed applications leveraging node.js, micro services, React, Grommet, containers
·  API development and integration experience and familiarity with Microservices methodologies for integrating with cloud-based development
·  Familiarity with cloud native application architecture patterns including containers, functional computing, batch processing
·  Experience with designing/setting up CaaS platforms, familiarity with container orchestration. Experience with Mesos a plus
·  Experience with Big Data architectures running on Hadoop
·  Expertise in DevOPs or DevSecOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) implementing cloud-based optimized development processes
·  Familiarity with application lifecycle management (ALM) processes, techniques and automation tools
·  Project experience in migrating On-Premise workloads to the cloud and/or implementing cloud-ready applications
·  Strong communication skills both verbal and written skills to develop technical documentation and presentations
·  Team leadership and management experience (team delivery, performance management, coaching, and mentoring)
·  Experience in leading technical architecture and application design discussions with developer and infrastructure team to drive cloud deployment
·  Experience with consultative and complex technical deployment projects, managing various stakeholder relationships
·  Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
·  Demonstrated strong project delivery experience with regard to estimates, planning and deliverables using project management methodologies

Preferred:

·  Software design or development of highly distributed applications
·  Systems operations / management
·  Database architectures, Virtualization, Networking, Storage, Security
·  Container orchestration using Mesos
·  Oauth2 Authentication, Authorization implementations
·  Azure or Google Cloud experience
·  Open Source development, LAMP stack experience , and experience with Java, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive is a plus

Educational/Certifications Qualifications Desired:

·  Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field
·  Architecture Certification (TOGAF, CITA, EACOE, Certified SOA Architect, etc.)
