Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Services is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for an opportunity as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician for HPE’s clients in the Albany and surrounding area.  

In this role, you’ll provide onsite support to our corporate clients in Albany and the surrounding area. Based on the client’s needs, the support services you provide will include reactive break/fix and server, networking, and storage support.

You’ll have opportunity to work on the products we deliver and support, while gaining experience as a Field Data Center Technical Support Technician, which can lead to future careers within HPE.

This full-time position will:

·  be based in the Albany, NY area. No relocation assistance available. 
·  likely have a company car
·  have a work schedule likely to be 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday
·  participate on a rotation basis in after-hours / on call , weekend and holiday coverage
·  on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance
·  may require customers’ background checks and fingerprinting for Customer site access badges
·  may require obtaining a Secret or Top Secret US Government Clearance

Key Responsibilities

This is a full-time position with hours likely to be 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, but will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call / weekend / holiday coverage.

·  Provide a range of technical post-sales or service delivery support to our clients on standard systems
·  Maintain high level customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met
·  Handle customer relation problems promptly and appropriately, escalate issues according to established procedures
·  Respond to service, product, technical, and customer relations questions
·  Other duties as assigned

This position:

·  will participate on a rotation basis in occasional after-hours / on call / weekend / holiday coverage, so the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule are required
·  will, on a regular basis, routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds without assistance, so the physical strength, balance, and dexterity to enable that ability are required.
·  may require customers’ background checks and fingerprinting for site access badges, so willingness to undergo and ability to pass such checks are required.
·  will possibly require obtaining a US Government Clearance, so US citizenship and the ability and willingness to pass Federal background check are required.

Education and Experience Required

·  Bachelor’s (preferred) or Associate's degree (in a technical field ideal), and,
·  1+ year work experience in field technical support, with strong mechanical aptitude and technical acumen, or other relevant work experience 

OR

·  Vocational degree (technical field strongly preferred), or high school diploma, and
·  2+ years’ work experience in field technical support with strong mechanical aptitude and technical acumen, or other relevant work experience 

Knowledge and Skills Preferred

·  2+ years’ experience troubleshooting enterprise servers strongly preferred

·  Basic understanding of IT technical support
·  Basic project management skills
·  Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written
·  Analytical problem-solving skills 
·  Ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with customers, peers and support partners 
·  Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations 
·  Ability to work independently and be self-disciplined 
·  Ability to learn and comply with organization and policies
·  Baseline proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
