Enterprise Work Load Migration Architect (Limited Term Employee)

  

Job Description:

   

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect, with at least 5 yrs. experience in managed services, relocation services, and workload migrations. This role is based in Ottawa and expected to lead efforts in road mapping, customer requirements elicitations, migrations, P2V, P2P, or lift and shift, presentations to customer and senior management, and assisting in the implementation as SME.

Responsibilities:

·  Lead a team of other technology experts to gather requirements, design, document, and deliver a detailed solution for workload migrations.
·  Deliver business justification (e.g. workloads may be correctly identified and traced to their supporting servers, virtualization servers, infrastructure, middleware, and facilities) with cost analysis of existing data centre configurations.
·  Interpret customers’ business and technical requirements to design and cost solutions that meet both customers’ and HPE’s goals.
·  Engage in customer-facing activities: requirements gathering, solution workshops, solution presentations and proposals.
·  Lead activities, and prepare documentations for, Migration Planning including creation of deliverables like migration strategy, migration plan, service management strategy, service management plan, change management strategy, and change management plan including, but not limited to, security architecture, data transport encryptions, cryptographic algorithms/solutions, network security zonings, migration automations, detailed component designs, key design decisions, etc.
·  Collaborate with HPE project managers, customer project managers, and customer technical partners in the performance of responsibilities
·  Prepare summary reports of activities, risks assessments, and other required data for project management and end customer periodic reporting.
·  Provide leadership role for engagements, mentor team members

This position requires Secret level government clearance. The selected candidate must hold the Government of Canada Security Clearance level of Secret.

Skills and Experience:

·  5+ years’ experience managed services and relocation services of datacentres and/or workload migrations.
·  IT infrastructure acumen, e.g. compute, facilities, storage, LAN/WLAN networking, security
·  5+ years’ professional experience in customer facing capacity in planning, architecting solutions, creating roadmaps, and presenting from staff to executive levels
·  Desired: ITIL/ITSM certified
·  Nice to have: Certified Data Center Management designation
·  Nice to have: CCIE/CCNP, HPE, or Networking Certification
·  Strong oral and written communication skills
·  Expert technical writing skills
