Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an outstanding Data Engineering Intern to work in the Andover, MA office.  This intern will play a key role in developing an innovative new HPE storage artificial intelligence tool – HPE InfoSight.  HPE InfoSight allows HPE partners and customers to optimize, manage, and protect their storageinfrastructure. At the same time, it helps HPE customer support, engineering, and sales to deliver more value to our customers.

You will be joining a small, agile, empowered team, focused on analyzing call-home data sent from HPE Storage products to provide business value through analytics.  The team leverages a modern, reactive, microservice-based technology stack for our end-to-end data processing, analysis, API, and web application – to provide our users with the insights they need to be successful.

Responsibilities:

·  Technical contributor as a Data Engineer in a small, cross-functional development team, focused on providing data analytics as a service to internal and external HPE customers.
·  Contribute to the continuous improvement of our event-sourced, reactive data pipeline, powered by Scala, lagom/Akka, Spark, Kafka and Mesos.
·  Develop unit, integration, system or any tests that are needed to help the team deliver value quickly, with high quality, to our customers.
·  Develop automation for continuous delivery, testing, and monitoring of our application and infrastructure, using Python, Ansible, Logstash, Kibana, and others
·  Work with customers to develop complex business analytics, integrated into our application to provide visibility for up-sell opportunities, proactive customer service, and insights to improve the quality, reliability, and serviceability of HPE storage products.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience -

·  3rd year of University studies completed, technical degree specialization.
·  Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering program, or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills -

·  Team player with a passion for learning, programming, automation, and data analytics
·  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
·  Excellent communications skills

Some experience with any of the following is a plus -

·  Data Engineering development experience using Java, Scala or Python
·  Linux development or system administration experience, including Python or BASH scripting
·  Automation experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other
·  Data analytics experience with SQL, NoSQL, or Hadoop
