SafeGuard Services (SGS), a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services, performs data analysis, investigation, and medical review to detect, prevent, deter, reduce, and make referrals to recover fraud, waste, and abuse.
Since 1999, SGS has prevented more than $7.5 billion in inappropriate payments, consisting of over $4.7 billion in proactively Prevented Dollars and $2.8 billion in Recovered Dollars. Our experience with fraud and abuse analytics has resulted in the referral of hundreds of cases to law enforcement and resulted in successful criminal and civil prosecution and civil monetary penalties.

Position Overview:
The position requires the individual to conduct research on Medicare claims data and other sources of information to identify problems, review sophisticated data model output, and utilize a variety of tools to detect situations of potential fraud and support ongoing fraud investigations and requests for data.

Desired profile

Education and Experience:
Prerequisites:

• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience as a data analyst.
• At least two years of experience in data analysis as well as demonstrated knowledge of healthcare claims or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
• Experience with Microsoft Access preferred.
• Experience with Business Objects preferred.
• Experience with SQL preferred.
• Proven Ability to work with a variety of systems, sources of data and analytic tools.
• Strong proven analytical ability.
• Basic knowledge of SAS preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Medicare experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of health care information (e.g., health claims data specifically Medicare and Medicaid), ICD-9/10-CM codes, and physician specialty codes) is preferred.
