Description

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work with other HPE Networking engineers, software architects, developers, and testers, as well as external technology partners to establish plans for, design, implement and test new software for Embedded Switch Software Solutions.  You will participate as a member of a team of software developers designing and implementing these solutions.   Solutions will be your business.  You and your team will work closely with customers, channel partners and field teams to identify breakthrough innovations and define new product capabilities.  Innovation is key as you design new software products and tools and develop major functional and performance enhancements for existing products. 

You will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge Networking Switches solutions and technologies.  You will work with partners from across the networking industry as well as with different product development teams within HPE Networking.  Creativity and innovation are needed as we strive to quickly bring quality products to market, leveraging both open software technologies and custom-tailored hardware-software components.  Strong teamwork and open communication are essential since components from multiple sources must integrate seamlessly as you build the foundation for this emerging business.

Education:

Bachelor's (undergraduate), Master's (graduate), or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in a technical discipline (e.g. computer science, information technology, computer or electrical engineering, etc.).

Requirements:

•Solid knowledge in C and OOP

•Knowledge of Linux platforms

•Strong interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills

•Ability to work with partner organizations in different geographic locations and time zones

Other desired experience, knowledge and skills:

•Familiarity with Python

•Familiarity with unit testing concepts and tools

•Familiarity with version control systems

•Familiarity and/or usage experiences with software lifecycle, defect tracking, and software testing tools and concepts

•Familiarity with databases

•Knowledge in networking areas, technologies and concepts
