Job description

The SAP Basis Administrator responsible for the management of the SAP environment. The SAP Basis Administrator responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates to resolve SAP transport and source code problems. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional areas include the evaluation and design of interfaces between SAP and external systems, maintenance of the SAP Data Dictionary and database objects, and manage the migration of SAP database and application configuration into production as well as analyze, develop, and maintain data architectures and process models within SAP.
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for managing the day to day operations of SAP including the implementation, the monitoring, the centralized control and the technical support of the SAP. The SAP Basis Administrator also provides support to Design, Build & Test effort of the Production environment.
The SAP Basis Administrator is expected to conduct system analysis and development, with limited support from external vendor professional services, and in coordination with SADAD teams to keep our systems current with changing technologies while addressing SADAD Business requirements.
The SAP Basis Administrator also acts as a key technical resource providing advice and guidance for SADAD professional staff in Database related matters
- Install / Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
- Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly
- Administer the SAP database with Database Administrator (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, maintain database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.).
- Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.
14. Apply and migrate SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
- Create and maintain user roles and authorizations based on business needs.
- Experience with security concepts and User/Role administration across all SAP products (i.e,SAP ECC, BW/BI, CRM, Solution Manger, XI,/PI, SRM, PI and BOBJ) is strongly preferred
- Create SAP transports and work within change management guidelines ensuring that all transports moved into production maintain system integrity
- Assist in enforcement of policies for SAP system security
- Assist in implementation of security best practices and standards 
- Works closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future plans and activities including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment, the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of new products.
- Provides regular reports on system problems and their solutions, as well as assisting in forecasts of future utilization and equipment requirements.
- Supports the assessment activities of new technologies and products in the SAP field.
- Performs at or above the enterprise’s Information Technology performance  standards.
- Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation, or education.
- Maintains an effective work relationship with external suppliers
- Participates in the 24x7 On-Call support Rota if required
- Good knowledge in Oracle  11g and 12C
- Good knowledge in Oracle in setup / configure OEM12C
- Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
- Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
- Install and configure all required SAP database servers and application servers.
- Manage SAP users, authorizations, and profiles.
- Distribute the online SAP user workload and monitor and manage the SAP background job workload
- Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.
- Maintain SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies.
- Monitor all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.).Good verbal, written, and presentation skills
