Head Mixologist – Position Summary
Overview: The Head Mixologist is a key leadership position of the Food and Beverage team. Responsible for leading the creation of premium beverage experiences by curating concept specific cocktail menus and delivering exceptional service through a high performing and inspired mixology team. Ensuring all guests enjoy a memorable experience in line with Hilton's standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Elevate Guest Experience: Curate elevated concept specific beverage programs, including signature cocktails and seasonal specials.
· Cocktail Creation: Develop best in class cocktails and mocktails that fit withing the venue concepts and maximize the use of local, seasonal, and sustainable products.
· Leadership & Team Development: Lead, inspire and develop a high performing knowledgeable bar team, fostering a positive work environment.
· Operational Efficiency: Manage daily bar operations, including inventory control and maintaining setup standards.
· Customer Service Focus: Create guest centric welcoming atmosphere and provide recommendations on beverages and local attractions. Address guest feedback promptly to improve service delivery.
· Commercial Performance: Forster a culture of performance amongst the team to deliver on all financial, commercial, and other defined targets.
· Awards and Recognition: Strive to be recognized for concept and market relevant awards and recognitions that will elevate the position of the bar and the hotel.
· Beverage Knowledge & Sales: Promote bar services confidently and explain menu items to guests.
· HACCP: Ensure all practices fully comply with Hilton’s defined food safety and HACCP standards.
· Compliance & Safety: Adhere to liquor laws and safety standards, ensuring a safe environment.
· Financial Accountability: Manage financial transactions and stock levels, maintaining accurate procedures.
· Professional Standards: Maintain cleanliness and uphold Hilton’s brand image.
· Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service.
· Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to enhance operations and stay updated on industry trends.
Direct Reports: Mixologists, Bartenders, bar backs – any other team members directly involved in the creation of the mixology program.
Candidate Profile:
· Minimum of a senior high school education, with a preference for those with a specialty in Hospitality or a related field.
· At least 3-4 years of practical experience within a destination bar environment demonstrating a strong acumen for bar operations.
· At least 1-2 years of experience in a managerial role within a destination bar environment, demonstrating a proven track record in delivering high-quality service and guest satisfaction.
· Strong command of English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with guests and team members.
· Beverage Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of food and beverage preparation and a solid foundation in alcohol service.
· Leadership Ability: Proven capability to lead, train, and inspire a team, ensuring consistent service excellence and a positive work environment.
· Adaptability: Flexible and responsive to dynamic operational needs and guest preferences, demonstrating an ability to thrive under pressure.
