Job description



A Resident Doctor is responsible for managing the Resort Clinic and carrying out the function of a doctor at the Hotel to cover guest and team members.

What will I be doing?

As a Resident Doctor, your will be concerned with the provision of medical services and consultations to guests and team members. The position will also be responsible for the operation of the Resort Clinic including the upkeep of Clinic, medical equipment and ensure adequate levels medicine stock are maintain.

You will be responsible for manning the Resort Clinic during the appointed Clinic hours, between 09:00 - 13:00 and 16:00 - 19:00, and attending to the medical needs of resort guests and team members.

You will be ‘on call' for urgent or emergency medical situations outside of Clinic hours at all times.

·
Provide a luxury service at the Resort Clinic in accordance with medical guidelines to both guests and team members.

·
Provide medical consultations (and follow-up where necessary) to guests and team members as required.

·
Maintain accurate up-to-date medical records of guest and team member consultations.

·
When necessary, liaise with the local hospitals and doctors with regards guests or team members who have been referred for further treatment.

·
Liaise with Department Heads with regards medical services to guests and team members.

·
Provide emergency medical services/treatment when required.

·
Ensure high level of cleanliness and maintenance of the Clinic and medical equipment together with Senior Nurse.

·
Ensure that stocks of supplies are being rotated, and that all products are used within their expiry date together with Senior Nurse.

·
Ensure that par levels of appropriate medical supplies and equipment are maintained, including oxygen supplies together with Senior Nurse.

·
Be flexible and provide support and assistance where required within the resort.

·
Be cost conscious, and manage the Clinic in an entrepreneurial manner.

·
Perform and other medical related tasks as required by guests or management.

·
Ensures that all medical related information is communicated throughout the company.

·
Counsels team members and makes referrals to Human Resources when required.

·
Responds to guest and team member requests in a timely and professional manner.

·
Monitors and handles queries/complaints from team members.

·
Ensures customer satisfaction according to department standards.

·
Maintains the highest level of confidentiality in discussions with internal /external customers.

·
Submits reports within the agreed deadlines to HR Manager, HRD, DoF and DoO.

·
Produces accurate, well presented documentation and statistics.

·
Oversee and maintains up to date, accurate filing of medical related issues together with Senior Nurse.

·
Consistently performs job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

·
Supports Hygiene Manager to maintain and monitors health and safety risk factors for the property.

·
Updates information about sickness in a timely manner.

Qualifications :

· Ability to operate and maintain a HR system
· Counselling Skills
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence; write correspondence and memos. Possessses effective presentation skills
· Ability to carry out the basic mathematical functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to interpret data
· Ability to apply commonsense and display good judgement, when interacting and problem solving with team members and guests
· Excellent grooming standards
· Positive attitude
· Participate in necessary training and request training to meet development needs
The following qualifications and experience is mandatory:

· Internationally recognized medical physician qualification
· Minimum of 3 years work experience in a hospital or similar
· Registered doctor in the Maldives
It will be advantageous to have the following experience:

· Work experience in the capacity of a doctor in a luxury resort or remote location.
