Pastry 3rd (Commis Pastry)

A Pastry 3rd is responsible for supporting the pastry section of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting in the preparation and presentation of desserts and pastry items.

 

What will I be doing?

As a Pastry 3rd, you will support the pastry team while working closely with the Pastry Chef and senior chefs to deliver high-quality desserts and bakery items. You will assist in the daily preparation and organization of the pastry section to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

·  Assist the pastry team with the preparation and production of desserts, pastries, and baked goods
·  Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs to ensure consistency and quality
·  Prepare ingredients, basic pastry components, and mise en place for daily service
·  Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section at all times
·  Ensure all food preparation areas meet food hygiene and Health & Safety standards
·  Assist with plating and presentation of desserts during service
·  Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
·  Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service

·  Previous kitchen or pastry experience is preferred but not essential

·  Good organisation and attention to detail
·  Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
·  Excellent grooming standards

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

·  Culinary or pastry qualification or training
·  Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
·  Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings
