The Global Operations Network team at Amazon is looking for a highly experienced Network Engineer to support our employee installations around the globe. This position will collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers located in different regions around the world to support connectivity options for our Corporate, Customer Service, and Subsidiary locations.
Responsibilities Include:
Support cutting-edge, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support Amazon's growth worldwide.
Monitor and maintain performance & capacity at Amazon's office installations to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-going design efforts and systems support.
Support & build wireless solutions for a variety of Amazon locations.
Support & build ISP facilitated meshed MPLS connectivity for all Amazon Customer Service locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a broad engineering background as you will be working with a variety of systems and technologies to deliver best of breed network service to Amazon's internal customers worldwide. Other qualifications include the following:
· Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or relevant work experience
· 3+ years of Network administration experience
· In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; BGP, OSPF, etc
· In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms; specifically with Cisco 37xx, 39xx, 45xx, 49xx, 94xx, ASR, & Nexus devices including all compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms
· Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
· Professional written and verbal communication skills (English required, local dialects a plus)
· Good interpersonal and customer service skills
· Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in TCP (internals and flow control), UDP, DNS & DHCP
· Experience with protocols and technologies such as STP, PVST, First Hop Redundancy Protocols, EtherChannel, QoS , NTP , 802.1x & NetFlow.
· Candidates should also possess past experience with IPSec / Remote Access VPN technologies , Firewalls (ASA) , Wireless (802.11x) & IT security best practices
