A Logistics Supervisor within the Conference and Events Operations Team manages the porter’s on every shift to offer a high quality, efficient service while ensuring sub department targets are met.

What will I be doing?

As Logistics Supervisor, you will be part of the logistics management team and will report to the Logistics Manager. You will supervise, direct and assist the logistics porters with setup and breakdown of all hotel meetings and events. You will also be accountable for the sub-department targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

· Manage and assist the logistics porters for the set up and breakdown of meetings, events, exhibitions and banquets for between 10 to 1500 guests.
· Supervise, train and develop the logistics team members
· Maintain standards and ensure they are monitored and continuously evaluated, with an emphasis on high quality and efficiency.
· Support the Logistics Manager to ensure all porters receive an annual and interim appraisal and any other appropriate performance feedback in a timely manner
· Awareness of industry trends and propose ideas to build and expand the range and quality of services offered
· Maintain costs in line with sub department targets, identifying any areas for action
· Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel areas and with external customers and suppliers
· Ensure sub department payroll targets are met through effective supervision of porters and good time management
· Deal with sudden staff shortages through absenteeism and report all absences according to Company Attendance Procedures
· Ensure training is carried out on an ongoing basis
· Carry out detailed team briefings
· Plan logistics of equipment specifics for events
· Ensure compliance with and the proper training of Team Members so that all Company Health and Safety, and Fire Regulations and procedures are understand and applied

·  Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

·  Previous experience in a supervisory role in a hotel / events venue
