Boasting 310 guest rooms, 14,000 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool, and multiple dining options, this hotel is the premiere full-service hotel in Springfield! The Assistant Director of Rooms for this corporate managed DoubleTree hotel will oversee the entire housekeeping team and report to the Director of Rooms. The ideal candidate for this key leadership position will be a hands-on leader with a strong attention to detail and 2-3 years housekeeping management experience.

The Assistant Director of Rooms with a primary focus on Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping and Rooms departments. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, guest service, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Director of Rooms will work closely with the Director of Rooms to develop and implement strategies that enhance guest satisfaction and improve Housekeeping and Rooms operations processes.

An Assistant Director of Rooms is responsible for directing and administering the operations of key guest contact departments in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Direct and administer Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to daily operations, guest service standards and initiative, product quality, inventory management and cost controls, merchandising and marketing, systems use management, budgeting and forecasting, department management and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Lead the housekeeping and laundry teams, the lobby and public areas staff, and the bell/valet team members, serving as a key member of the Rooms leadership team
  • Assists in overseeing key guest contact departments and their department heads, managers and team members and provides instruction to department managers.
  • Oversees Housekeeping and Rooms related systems that directly impact the guest, to ensure proper procedures are in place and followed which allow for an outstanding guest experience.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends and evaluate and address, systems and procedures to make improvements accordingly
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
