Graduate opportunity - Hilton Management Development Programme Operations UK & Ireland
Want a challenge like no other? One where you have team and business responsibility and accountability from the minute you start? A challenge where you are expected to grasp our processes quickly, and make a real difference to the business? The Hilton UK Management Development Programme is a graduate programme that runs over 18 months, where passion for hospitality and mobility are both essential.
With a strong focus towards Food & Beverage and Rooms Division, when you join the programme you will immediately start at a supervisory level, taking on the responsibilities, accountability and challenges that go with the specific position. It's not a slow-paced role, or a slow-paced industry you're joining, but we ensure that you'll be supported throughout, enabling you to be ready for your first line management position once the programme is completed.
However, we don't want you stay at one hotel for the duration of the programme when there's a wealth of experience to be shared, utilised and gained within the UK Hilton portfolio.
Your first placement on the programme will most likely be in one of our Scotland hotels, most certainly away from where you live/studied, and your 2nd placement means a new hotel and is likely to be in a whole new area of the country again.
What is the aim of the programme?
The UK MDP aims to develop a select group of talented, nationally mobile individuals and give them an intensive development opportunity to be running their own department within 18 months.
What will I do?
The programme runs over 18 months with a structured framework of practical and highly interactive learning and development activities. These include:
· 2-day induction to the programme, the wider business, Hilton history, culture and current business focus

· Exposure to Business Development
· HR and Finance exposure
· Personal mentor with regular feedback

· Regular and structured line manager feedback

· Hilton Worldwide University modules
Where will I be?
With hotels in all areas of the UK, you should be prepared to be placed (in both placements) anywhere in the UK and Ireland- this can include England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
When will I start?
If you are successful you will start the programme in September 2019.

As a Hilton team member, you will also have access to our Hilton University, our on-line learning & development tool, through which you can complete e-learning courses, learn a language on-line and make use of our on-line business library.

Mobility is an extremely important factor as you will be working in at least 2 different locations during the programme, potentially anywhere in the UK and Ireland.
What are the learning benefits?
Our graduate programme will give you a fast track to a permanent position on successful completion, dependent on your skills and size of the property.
The blended learning approach allows you to benefit from experiential learning, with structured time for reflection on your own personal development, with the support of an operational mentor, who has been where you are now. You will be one of a select number of graduates, ensuring you are noticed and will form part of our Talent Management process.
During the programme we will support you to build a challenging and tailored personal development plan.
This is a structured programme; however your drive and commitment will effect what you get out of the programme and the duration. You'll be keen to learn your craft on the job, while putting relevant learning into practice. Your role and responsibilities will evolve as your confidence and capabilities grow, taking you to different departments and hotels, not to mention the fact that we are a 24 hour business! This means you have to be driven and flexible.
