The Consumer Healthcare Supply Chain (CHSC) is part of GMS and represents a network of 32 dynamic sites supplying great products and innovation to consumers around the world. The opportunities for a global career in CHSC are extensive.
We are looking for a talented experienced professional who is keen to enhance their career in Technical to help us deliver our end-to-end supply chain strategy. We've got a great new permanent full-time opportunity as a Technical Product Owner at our Slough site.

Did you know?
The Slough site celebrated its centenary in 2006 and is one of the most historic sites in the GlaxoSmithkline network producing key products which include Horlicks – Traditional, Light and Chocolate Malt. The facility is part of the Consumer Healthcare supply network currently employing over 80 people and operating 24/7, with capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes of Horlicks per annum for the UK and international markets such as Malaysia.

As Product Owner, you will be part of the CHSC Technical team. In GMS the goal of the Technical function is to deliver scientific expertise to the manufacturing processes and technologies ensuring our new and existing products are in a constant state of high control. Being a Product Owner is a technically challenging role with us only looking for candidates who have the drive and capability to excel.

You'll be responsible for:
• Ensuring all aspects of Product Quality Lifecycle Management are actively applied to the product(s) which include; maintaining a current Technical Risk Assessment and current Product Control Strategy; pro-actively trending performance of the product(s); making recommendations for continuous improvement; and assessing the risk of proposed changes to product manufacturability and quality.
• Being recognised as the principle point of contact (‘go to' person) for the end to end process.
• Ensures that standard work is in place to translate the Product Control Strategy into clear manufacturing instructions.
• Technical leadership on behalf of the site during transfer of new product introductions from R&D into site and subsequent transfer out to other sites.
• Where required, input to regulatory submissions for first file, subsequent post-approval submissions and annual reports.
• Providing technical product advice to key stakeholders and relevant Production Managers ensuring that Operators have appropriate product knowledge and training to fully execute the manufacturing instructions.
• Providing technical leadership and input into root cause analyses to support the investigation and resolution of product complaints and product deviations in conjunction with QA.
• Execute key technical activities including trials, improvement projects, Root Cause Analysis, and validation activities where applicable.
• Act as a coach / mentor to operational staff, support functions.

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
• Scientific, Technical, Engineering, FMCG or Food related Bachelors Degree or international equivalent.
• Demonstrated experienced in the FMCG, Food or Pharmaceutical industry in leading the Technical aspects of the Product Lifecycle.
• Track record of improving products, processes and trouble-shooting.
