Your Responsibilities :
What you'll do
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our cross-functional product engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has an IT interest and who is looking to develop their career within a cloud and DevOps environment.
Your role as a Platform Engineer will be varied including evolving our GCP hosted platform, supporting
building out our automation pipeline, helping us towards compliance, monitoring and working cross functionally with engineers and product teams.
You will do this whilst working with, and learning from, our more senior platform engineers.
We're a cross functional product, design and engineering team building digital products for GSKs patients and helping the organisation navigate a tech transformation.
We care about you, about your wellbeing, and about our staff bringing their whole selves to work. We value psychological safety, empathy and emotional intelligence and try to live those values every day.
We support each other and grow together, and do so while caring personally about those who
we work with and the wider company.
We of course have amazing people who help us build and design amazing products, and you will be part of a supportive environment while you do the same.
Recent things we've done that this role would be involved in:
● Building out our secrets management solution for our platform (using Hashicorp Vault).
● Automating environment standup, and enabling automatic DNS standup for our non-production deployments
● Demo'ing our GCP platform to the wider business and engaging in future growth discussion
● Automating wildcard SSL attribution to newly stood up services
● Setup and provision of security elements within our pipeline (e.g. Forseti)
● Management of appropriate infrastructure so that billing attribution is automated between tenants
● Getting actively involved and helping the business with a tech transformation
You'll care about the customer/patient and having an impact on their lives. You'll care about outcomes and measuring your success.
You may have some background in the pharma industry. You'll care about your own growth and want to work in an environment that can help you be your best self.
You should care about putting our customers first. You will need to be focused, consistent, and care about why.
Your role is deeply important to the success of our business: you'll often be a first responder when things go wrong, so you'll need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively, possess a sense of urgency, and care about getting issues
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree and/or relevant professional experience
