Key Responsibilities
1. Scientific Licensing:
The Scientific Licensing role entails:
• Scientific evaluation of new in-bound opportunities including the preparation of initial technical reports to facilitate scientific review
• Maintaining database of licensing opportunities
• Management of cross functional scientific evaluation meetings including the preparation of agenda's and minutes
• Management of communications with companies and academic institutions
• Management of Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements
• Partnering with relevant stakeholders in undertaking full technical due diligence on selected projects
• Partnering with the HIV DPU in elevating new licensing opportunities to the Research Committee for funding consideration

2. Research Committee Meetings:
The Research Committee Meeting support includes:
• Management of cross functional meetings including the preparation of agenda's and minutes
• Tracking the progress of projects against key milestones using relevant project management tools
• Management of communications with companies and academic institutions

3. General Business Development Support:
General Business Development support includes:
• Supporting Head of Business Development in generating presentations, papers, reports
• Generating biannual competitive intelligence reports
• Management of Material Transfer Agreements
• Management of Research Collaboration Agreements, Clinical Supply Agreements, Quality Agreements, etc.
• Manage cross-functional meetings with the HIV DPU, GSK Biopharmaceutical and GSK Biological teams

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
• PhD or PharmD
• 1-3 years in Pharmaceutical Research or Development with demonstrated experience of matrix team leadership
• An in depth knowledge of HIV Biology would be critical
• Excellent team motivator, able to negotiate with individuals at same time as understanding departmental constraints/pressure (act with empathy, build network and goodwill)
• Strong interpersonal, communication (including presentation) and influencing skills
• Clear leadership capability/potential
• Effective time management, ability to clearly identify priorities and manage multiple tasks
• Creative approach to problem solving
• Good financial acumen
• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications:
• Finance / business degree (e.g., MBA)
