Our Global Manufacturing and Supply organization (GMS) leads the rapid commercialization and distribution of GSK products, allowing team members to take a proactive, hands-on approach to shaping the world around them. Working in conjunction with other parts of the business, we ensure the smooth and rapid transition of newly developed products into full-scale manufacture. By using a variety of processes and the latest efficient technology, our global network is able to deliver to patients and customers four billion packs of medicines and healthcare products every single year.

As an Analytical Chemistry graduate, you can expect to work on:
• Analytical testing on various dose forms of products, such as tablet, sterile and topical products
• Technically understanding of analytical equipment and analytical test methods
• Participating in New product introduction and product transfer process
• Trouble shooting and investigating of manufacturing issues
• Working cross functions to participate or to lead a project. As a Microbiology graduate at GSK, you can expect to work on:
• Microbial testing of raw materials, products and the manufacturing environment in GSK's sterile and non-sterile Pharmaceutical, Consumer Health, Biopharmaceutical and/or Vaccines businesses.This may include developing/transferring new methods/techniques into the area Interpreting microbiological and environmental monitoring data related to product manufacturing processes to allow the release of final product batches: assuring product safety and quality are maintained.
• Investigation, problem solving and consultancy through accurate data analysis of microbiological and environmental monitoring test data.
• Assessments of microbiological risk and manufacturing process control to ensure sufficient microbiological monitoring or testing programs are in place.
• Validation, verification and qualification of microbiological related systems such as sterilizing and decontaminating equipment (e.g. autoclaves and isolators respectively), test equipment, cleaning methods, testing methods, etc.
• Microbial testing of products and the manufacturing environment, this may include developing/transferring new methods/techniques into the area
• Interpreting microbiological and environmental monitoring data to allow release of product batches and assure production environmental quality is maintained

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
BS/MS degree completed by September 2017
• Majoring in any of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Chemistry-related science, Analytical Sciences, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field of study• 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the 3-year Program and will not require future sponsorship for an employment visa status
• Extremely mobile and able to relocate domestically and internationally
Less than 2 years of relevant work experience upon graduation

Preferred qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a laboratory, technical, or manufacturing setting in either industry or University experience
• Experience of the pharmaceutical industry and/or industrial-focused University project
•Previous experience of working in a microbiology laboratory, or within a manufacturing environment requiring a high degree of microbiological control and training
•Course content or lab experience of High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, spectrophotometric techniques such as IR (Infra Red) / UV (Ultra Violet), Mass spectroscopy , .
