Job description

Details:
GSK recently formed a new Target Sciences group, bringing together scientists from genetics, computational biology, statistics, target and pathway validation sciences and cellular and molecular biology to harness recent advances in genetics, genomics, cell biology and informatics with the objective of improving early drug discovery decisions that will deliver translation in human studies. We now have a number of job openings in Target Sciences– opportunities for you to collaborate with other scientists to advance exciting, innovative scientific programs with the potential to improve the lives of millions of people. We are creating a focused Target Sciences capability based in Seattle to leverage our collaboration with the Altius Institute. The Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences is creating a new integrated paradigm for biomedical discovery that empowers exceptionally creative computational and biological engineers and scientists to innovate at the leading edge of biology and technology.

Altius has developed truly disruptive technologies that radically scale epigenomic analyses and super-resolution imaging to create world-leading discovery capabilities yielding unprecedentedly rich data at petabyte scale. Altius' computational scientists and engineers are developing new frameworks for visualizing, manipulating, and deriving deep insights from these new data to crack the code of human genome function. Altius is collaborating with GSK to translate this new knowledge into new therapeutic avenues that radically accelerate development of life-changing medicines.
You will be working in a first-of-kind science studio designed to fully integrate molecular and computational scientists to maximize communication, efficiency, and team discovery.

Prior experience working with genomic/epigenomic data is not required.

This is a truly unique opportunity to impact leading-edge biomedical research. Please include a brief cover letter to highlight your skills, career trajectory, and desire to move the dial.
