Are you energized by a highly technical manufacturing role that allows you to accelerate efficiency and shape product quality?  If so, this Product Technology Manager role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

As a Product Technology Manager, this is a dedicated site-based role that partners with the Site Leader and Site Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and deliver the site engagement initiatives and events aligned with the business strategy as well as drive employee engagement. Working in close collaboration with members of the leadership team and HR, the purpose of the role will be to provide leadership, vision and direction to the Senior Site Lead, SLT, and other senior Leaders to promote the science, drive innovation and to build the culture. The role will provide tactical support and strategic guidance to senior management and other senior internal stakeholders around key initiatives, ensuring clarity of the site’s vision and strategy in all employee communications. Additionally, this role will also lead and implement internal/employee communications activities and events to create excitement, drive engagement, align teams and individuals to effectively support and strengthen GSK’s culture and business objectives internally.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

Leadership support

·  Advise and support Site Leadership Team and other key internal stakeholders in all matters regarding internal communications and employee engagement (content, channels, stakeholder-maps, messaging, events). Create, organize and execute leadership communication plans and strategies including communication messages and platforms (e.g. SLT decks, leadership messages, videos, etc.).  Design and implement functional yet engaging communication strategies and content for the site lead e.g. presentations, interviews, emails and video content
·  Member of Continuity Planning and Response Team i.e., provide input and support as needed for media inquiries, consult with leadership to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises

Internal communications

·  Align and deliver global internal communication activities and announcements with the overall site strategy and vision
·  Maintain and develop internal communication tools and channels to inform and engage employees.  Co-ordinate content development and approvals for internal announcements.  Help to manage news flow to maintain consistency and quality, maximize impact and reduce ‘noise’.  Ensure all activities and communications are compliant with regulatory, financial and legal requirements and are conducted in accordance GSK codes of conduct, ethics and values.

Employee engagement

·  Ensure high engagement of site employees, regarding awareness of the site and GSK vision, priorities and culture.  Ensure employees receive timely information and can participate in relevant corporate initiatives and programs
·  Support Site lead and other functional leads to ensure that employees are kept fully informed of matters which affect them or the business by developing and delivering communications materials (workplace, mass mails, plasmas etc)
·  Plan and maintain an annual employee engagement planner and implement events designed to engage and motivate employees. Manage the planning, organisation, logistics, content and materials for all social and other events including leadership team meetings, town halls, Lunch and Learn events, Let’s talk events and employee social events
·  Coach and assist team members on improving communication skills

HR support

·  Understand level of engagement through GSK survey results, focus groups, polls and leader and staff feedback
·  Coordinate with counterparts in other GSK hubs to identify opportunities to build connectivity between the different hubs through shared activities/events.  Co-ordinate consistent and streamlined internal information flow between the site and other GSK sites

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

·  Bachelor’s degree
·  5+ years experience in communication tasks as Internal communication/engagement Manager or in a comparable role in the biopharmaceutical industry or in order industry or institution.
·  1+ years experience in project management with ability to lead and prioritize projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

·  Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading and editing
·  Photo and video-editing skills
·  Experience in web design and content production is a plus
·  Experience of effectively utilizing digital channels including various social media platforms Strong project management orientation with ability to prioritize and lead complex list of projects to completion
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills which emphasize teamwork with a strong quality orientation
·  Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
·  Demonstrated ability to generate options to resolve problems, prioritize solutions, determine appropriate course of action and communication
·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
·  Committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture.

·  Strong strategic thinking and networking skills 
·  Ability to work effectively in cross-functional matrix to successfully deliver objectives on time and within budget
