GSK's General Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) Site at Ware has an opportunity available now for an Assembly Technical Operator role in our Respiratory Assembly division.

Please Note: This role is a shift role which currently operates on 24/5 - 8 hour shift pattern (LEN – Lates, Earlies & Nights).

The Production Technical Operator team is responsible for the organisation's manufacturing and/or production operations including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. Within this team, the Assembly Technical Operator is responsible for the set up and running of a variety of Assembly lines where drug-filled blister strips and plastic components are assembled into respiratory device ready for packing. Specifically, you will set up batches (checking all details against batch documentation) and operate the manufacturing line. In addition to monitoring reject levels and responding to machine stoppages, you will replenish component hoppers to ensure continuous production is maintained. Further to this you will perform all start of batch checks and critical device challenges to ensure the Assembly machines and ancillary equipment operate within specification to ensure consistent quality of manufactured devices. There are also a wide variety of other online and offline tasks, including maintaining training compliance and supporting investigations, related to the successful day-to-day running of the Assembly line.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.

Desired profile

Basic qualifications:
You must have relevant manufacturing experience / qualifications.

PLEASE NOTE: A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. You must have passed the Operator Assessment Kit (OAK) test standard (3-3-3) or successfully pass the online OAK's equivalent (this will be issued out by email to appropriately experienced / qualified candidates) – Please clearly state in your application if you have passed the OAKs test and when you sat the test.

Preferred qualifications:
- GCSE Mathematics & English or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy
