About the Position

Obtain proficiency operating the assigned airship in a safe, effective and efficient manner assuring for optimum utilization of the aircraft for favorable exposure for the corporation.

In coordination with the Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilot, accomplish public relations assignments through the appropriate planning, organizing, directing, operating, maintaining and administering of the airship operations which includes the airship, personnel, and ground support equipment as necessary. This is done in compliance with all corporate, OSHA and FAA regulations, requirements and policies.

Interact in a professional and appropriate manner with corporate personnel, vendors, media, airport management, the general public, and Goodyear customers & potential customers.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  Assist in the forward planning of airship flight operations. Arrange for travel accommodations (airports and motels) as necessary. Monitor weather conditions, communicate with crew, airport personnel, and passengers as necessary.
·  Obtain the proficiency to fly the New Goodyear Airship (NT). Master the complex systems and the most advanced flight controls ever installed in an Airship, from the vectorable propellers, to the thrust vector control system and the state of the art Garmin glass cockpit design with EICAS.   
·  Fly the airship in a manner obtaining maximum exposure while meeting public relations requirements and within safe and operation parameters of the airship design.
·  Assist in the tactical management of operations and crew as required or assigned, including (1) passenger carrying, (2) night sign flights, (3) exposure flying cross country, television and test flights, and (4) completion of necessary files, records and logs.
·   

Required Education and Experience

·  High School Diploma; LTA/HTA Commercial Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Multi-Engine Rating.
·  College Degree, Flight Instructors Rating, Commercial Airplane or Helicopter certifications preferred.
·  1,250 hours of total Flight Time.   
·  Experience with Garmin technology and glass cockpit desired. 
·  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
·  Able to maintain current knowledge of all FAA, Goodyear and other regulatory requirements, advisories, publications and policies as required.
·  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Exposure to outdoor weather including rain, wind, thunder, lightning, snow, heat, humidity, fog, etc.  May tend to and/or fly airship in adverse conditions.  Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
