About Go Banana

Go Banana is the UK’s first Comparison Website for Building & DIY Supplies. We have recently launched and have over 100,000 products on our site and we are growing daily. We are offering a unique Ecommerce platform for tradesman as well as DIY enthusiasts looking to purchase at the best possible price. 

Job Brief:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Ecommerce Assistant to oversee the functionality of our website, manage our categories with an overall stock inventory of 105k+products and help design/implement an email strategy.

Responsibilities Include:

Basic category/website management e.g. be able to add new product categories/sub categories and special offers.
Maintain stock levels with suppliers and check product information is showing correctly on the site.
Researching similar websites for ideas/category names.
Contacting registered suppliers to help receive their stock files.
Testing functionality of website on a day to day basis.
Sharing ideas on how to improve customer retention/reduce bounce rates.
Design email templates for newsletters/abandoned carts/registered customers etc using Mailchimp.

Skills/Work Experience:

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Some knowledge of the DIY/home improvement market is ideal but not essential.
Experience/knowledge with creating email campaigns/newsletters.
Recent experience within a similar role within ecommerce.
Experience of MS office, especially Microsoft Excel and a variety of other spreadsheets formats.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible approach and keen attitude to work within a start up environment.
Desire and ability to learn new skills and to grow within the company.
Able to deal with multiple challenges and to use initiative.

Working Hours:
Ideal candidate can work from home full time or part time. Hours to be agreed. If working from home a Skype call is a must at least once a week to check on progress.

Salary:
Unpaid, however it is likely there may be a position available in the future for the right candidate. Transport costs to be covered.
