Job description

The Global Forum for Media Development (www.gfmd.info) is a non-profit international membership network of media assistance groups that highlights the importance of independent, pluralistic and sustainable media in social and economic development. GFMD members share a common goal: to foster free, professional and pluralistic media, leading to more open societies, greater transparency and enhanced freedom of expression.The headquarters are located in Brussels.

The GFMD seeks high potential interns to work with its international team, from May 2017.
Field of work of the intern(s) and expected activities:

-Writing content for the website & the Bi-Weekly newsletter
-Updating or developing the GFMD webpage and social media pages
-Keeping contact with partners online and fostering a sense of community.
-Events organization
-Support to research projects and fundraising

Flexibility for the internship duration (3 to 6 months) and start date (from May 2017)

Compensations for lunch and public transportation where applicable. We are open to remote working and intern can be based internationally.

Desired profile

Requirements:
-Currently enrolled in course of Political Science, Journalism, Web development, Programming, Marketing or Communications, Public diplomacy or similar.
-English mother-tongue or excellent English writing skills
-Excellent social media skills
-Audience analysis skills for online content creation
-Working knowledge of Spanish, Russian or Arabic is an advantage

The intern will be assigned different tasks, therefore s/he must be well organised, self-reliant, able to identify priorities and to coordinate with others. S/he must also be able to work remotely for some hours every day to ensure GFMD’s social media presence.
